Pier 35 is strongest as a layered view: bridge cables overhead, open water in the middle distance, and Lower Manhattan or Brooklyn geometry framing the edge.
Route Plan

Enter from the East River Esplanade near Jefferson Street.

Start with a wide frame of the Manhattan Bridge from the deck.

Move toward the raised porch for bridge-to-bridge sightlines.

Finish with low railing shots looking south along the river.
